WHEW! It’s been so BUSY around here!
I’m excited to tell you that Preparing To Be A Help Meet is on its way to the printer FINALLY!!
This has REALLY been a team effort with so many being willing to share their heart stories. Even the single guys that have reviewed the book say they love it because it helps them identify the traits they want to look for in a GREAT future wife. My editor tells me that it rivals Created To Be His Help Meet and may even be better. It’s a book that has something for everyone, whether single or married.
This book was written to with a lot of flexibility. It will be good for individual study or in a study group setting. There are even plans to start a chat forum online for people that want to discuss points of the book across the world wide web! So MANY things are coming together so quickly. We are aiming towards the middle of April for a release date … That’s only 4 or 5 weeks away! If you want to be SURE to get a copy, you can pre-order one from No Greater Joy.
Me? Well I’m going to take a B-R-E-A-K!! … That’s right. As of Wednesday, I’m officially off duty for a couple of months. I’ve had my nose to the grindstone these last four months, and I’m worn out! So I plan to dig in my herb garden. I LOVE my garden. If you want to find me, you’ll need some work clothes and gloves because I’ll just put you to work!
I’m planning on just sitting in the sunshine with my daddy, playing with my grandchildren and fishing with Mike … and maybe not in that order. All I know is I’m getting away from the office for a while and doing a great big cannonball dive back into the stuff that makes life so much fun here on Cane Creek.
Keep watching this blog to find out when the chat forum goes online!
Be ready with your picture frame and pink flip flops.
What does that mean? Watch and see…You’re going to be on the front page!

Well Debi, my friends and I are all really excited to get a copy of your new book! We’ve been immensely blessed by Created To Be His Help Meet, and are very much looking forward to sharing your new book with our daughters! Bless you for all your efforts in writing this new book – we are very eager to read it!
Have a lovely day in the Lord,
Liz
I am so excited for this book to come out. I have a daughter that is in a courting relationship and think this will be a wonderful book for her to read to prepare for marriage. Thank you for all you do to help us raise Godly children.
Debbie, thanks for this new book for the young ladies! I have put in my pre-order. Enjoy your break! God’s blessings to you and yours.
Pink flip flops?? I’m so curious…Guess I’ll have to wait and see. Can’t wait for the book I already have two girls “earmarked” for two copies. My daughters! One for me too!
I can’t imagine it being better than your first…we’ll see, I’m sure it’ll be great.
The chat room sounds fun too.
Congratulations, Mrs. Debi! Thanks for writing it ahead of time and have fun in the wonderful dirt!
Dear Debi,
I was just online checking to see if your family has a blog…to see how your family is, any news, etc. Unfortunetly, what came up are crazy allegations against your family for what another family has done. I feel like I want to bring encouragement to you and your family and let you know that so many people who read these things, know better!!! I know that when you stand firm on the word of God and take the narrow path, that the world will be blinded to the truth and that you will be persecuted. I hope that the words in James will help you during these times…“consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds…” Also, knowing that God is a God who sees all and knows all and will bring the truth to light. All that said, and I could go on and on, it still hurts when people are mean. I am sorry your family goes through so much in the press. You and your ministry has been a great encouragement to me and I am thankful for your work and great sacrifice to the Lord.
Love,
Shannon
Can’t wait to see the book! Thank you, Debi, for working so hard to minister to the needs of others like myself. I hope you enjoy the next few weeks spent in your lovely garden!
Yay!
Love and was blessed by your previous book, “Created to Be His Helpmeet”. My husband, who is a pastor, has said that book was the best thing that happened in our marriage. He has encouraged me to use it and recommend it to the women in our church. Can’t wait to read the next one! God bless you and Mike, and NGJ!
Can’t wait until your book is out. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. I love all the work you do through your books. Your work is very appreciated.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For all your hard work and study on our behalf. CTBHHM has blessed my life, my husband and my children so tremendously. Words can never express my grattitude for your labor of love. All my questions were answered throught the WORD of GOD and your book. Thank you to Micheal too for he has been in it just as deep as you I am sure, of course in different ways. Thanks to all who helped you and for the many stories shared to bring it all home!
I am looking forward to receiving your new book for my daughters and myself. It will be treasured in our home I am sure.
Amy you be richly blessed in your rest and in all that you put your hands to! GOD BLESS YOU!
Dive right in, enjoy the fun stuff, while I enjoy your new book.
I am anxiously waiting to get this book in my hands-I really enjoyed Created to Be….I try to read it once a year to refresh my mind and to remind myself of who God wants me to be. I am so excited about this new book—-can’t wait!!!
Thank you so much for all you do!!
I’ve been married for 8 years, but I still look forward to reading your new book! Created to be His Helpmeet is the best book I’ve ever read, hands down and I’m sure this one will be good as well. Please come back often in your “off time” to tell us what you’re doing in your garden and time away! I just discovered your blog today and am SOO glad because I LOVE to read your work! You should write more!
Debi, you look so much like your mom in the picture of you walking through the garden. Takes me back to such good memories of Millington. Sure to miss seeing her every time we go see Mom. Have fun on your time off.
Debi, thank God for this work, can´t wait to read it. I hope that you rest pleasantly.
I loved Created to be his helpmeet so i would love to read this one…maybe i can read it and then pass it on to my 15 yr old daughter…i was considering having her read created…but this will be even better!

Kathy

Loved your first book and I am sure this one is great also. I also want to take a break and work in my garden, but may have to have more surgery just to prove to the doctors that God can and did heal me of cancer Love to all
I am so excited about this book! I am 22 years old and still single, but I’m doing all I can to be ready when “Mr Right” finally appears on the horizon. :-) I also really enjoyed “Created to be his helpmeet”.
Debi, your book Created to Be His Helpmeet has been a GREAT help & blessing to me & my daughter. We’ll look forward to the new one and the forum. Rose Shepherd
Be refreshed Debi♥♥♥♥♥♥♥For you have refreshed many of us. Thank you!
Love In Christ,
Leslie Dawn
Hi Debi, this book will be perfect for my oldest soon to be 21 yr old…who is Zach’s big sis…I will be sharing this with my friends here around DC who have older girls. Hope to see you soon. And I’ll bring my gloves. Even some of my fav seeds to share.
As a single young woman, I’m very excited about this new book! I’m also excited about the idea for an online chat forum about the book. I think it would be wonderful if you could turn a section of that forum into a place for like-minded single guys and girls to meet. We need a way for those of us who are walking in truth to find one another! Perhaps you will also address this problem in your book. I know threadtree.com was advertised as a place to meet other singles, but we need a site that is monitored by a NGJ staff person and that clearly lays out the purpose of this section of the forum—to meet like-minded singles. Do you think a site like this could be safe or helpful?
Thanks again for all you do!
Well Debi, I am soooo glad you are taking some important time off to love your man, family and love your garden. We have ordered our case of Prepared, and looking forward to it. Catch some big fish. : ) I will be thinking of you when I am working in our garden. Got some seeds and raspberry canes planted already. May God sweetly bless your days of rest and fun. P.S. I would consider it a great blessing to work in your garden with you. But, we’re here in Washington, so we’ll be working together in thought and prayer.
Your Sister in Christ~
Susan
Hello! I am in the process of reading “Created to be His Helpmeet” and have loved it. My question for you is— Were you flying from Philadelphia to Minneapolis last week? I think that I was sitting an aisle down from you and your husband, or else a couple that looked just like you! I’d love to hear back from you if it was actually you :O) JessannaKasiguran@gmail.com
Love your book— thank you!
Thank you so much Debi for your time in writing this book. I look so forword to the next one to share with my daughter. My friend and I plan on doing a grils study with it. May God Bless you as you continue to deliver His truth. In His name, Denise
Thank you! I’m engaged and hope to be married soon. I just got your new book in the mail yesterday and am already on the 3rd chapter :) Keep up the good work! may God be praised for the way He has used you!
I have waited for someone to write a book like this for so long! I get so fed up with the hyper-spiritual mumbo-jumbo that doesn’t do marriages any good, and I’m SO excited to have good advice from you since I’ve seen you and Mike in action for my whole life! Thanks Debi!
Debi&mike,
I just finished the vision, WOW It took me about two days to read it. I couldn’t put it down. I’m trying to order the test , I can’t seem to find it. Whats up, haven’t finished it yet? I hope i’m wrong I’m ready to start it tonight.Great job with the vision, I don’t know when i have enjoyed a book more. I can see God’s hand in it. Thanks Mike p.s. Now I’ll let Margie read it.
Mrs. Pearl, I waited for our local homeschool bookfair to come around, planning to pick up a copy of this new book. I had to hunt for it… somebody hadn’t been able to get it because of the downed phone lines!… but I found it! Yay!
I have read most of it in the last two days. There is so much to appreciate, I don’t know where to begin… unless it’s with the fact that you begin with prayer, and that was so powerful I called a friend to read her most of the first chapter! :) It makes sense in light of my own experiences.
The second thing that comes to mind is that you are practical. This is about being right spiritually, but you do not over-spiritualize. Your own (age-garnered) wisdom, coupled with such a variety of outside perspectives, made this something completely different.
I’m 24, and have always been very shy and, no doubt, have come across as holier-than-thou. Your advice was particularly eye-opening in that regard. I want to be visible to a good man! :)
All the years I’ve been reading NGJ I have been blessed by hope. Your book is no exception. Thanks for nurturing the desire for God’s best, and motivating me to act today.
Debi, I just finished reading “Preparing” and it is absolutely wonderful! This book will be a blessing to a multitude of young women. I love the way this book is put together with the stories and the study! I thank God for your ministry, He has used you in a mighty way! I pray for you always.
Bonnie
Hello Debi!
I absolutely LOVE THIS BOOK! It’s amazing! It really is helping me understand God much better, I truly believe that this book was sent from my sisters to me from God. God truly, I believe wanted me to read this book! I am still reading it but I just couldn’t wait to comment you on it!You did wonderful and of course without God it would have just been another book on my bookshelf. The only comments I would like to make are, you have a few misspellings, and I have been waiting my WHOLE life to find a mistake or even two as I did find in your book! I know it might sound like something bad but to me one of my dreams came to thanks to you! If you want to see the mistakes I saw they are on page[s] 125 at the bottom the word there is written like thre, and page 84 their is written like thier. Well I am going to keep on reading because I LOVE THIS BOOK OH AND BY THE WAY, WHEN YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT GIRL MEETING THE RIGHT GUY, AND WHAT TYPE OF GIRL GUYS LIKE ON PAGE 114 YOU TALK ABOUT GIRLS GETTING SLIM SO THE GUYS CAN LIKE THEM, BUT HONESTLY IF IT IS FROM GOD JUST LIKE A MAN SHOULDN’T CHANGE FOR A WOMEN A WOMEN SHOULDN’T CHANGE FOR A MAN, I COMPLETELY DISAGREE ON THAT BUT THAT IS THE ONLY THING SO FAR I HAVE FOUND A BIT RUDE, AND YES YOU DID APOLOGIZE AHEAD OF TIME BUT YOU DID A GREAT JOB ON EVERYTHING ELSE PLEASE KEEP IT UP!!!!!!! :)IF YOU COULD PLEASE E-MAIL ME BACK, THANK YOU :)
I have really enjoyed your book! Its so amazing, and girls my age can read this book and hopefully want to marry a godly man.
Golly, I’m reading Preparing with my Mom (and with myself, lol) and it’s been conviction and eye-opening truths! Thanks so much! So far, the chapter on knowledge has had the BIGGEST effect on me and I’ve been pouring information into myself. I mean, I already knew alot, but not all of it was useful. I’m reading Nourishing Traditions (which my Mom has had for over a year – I just thought it was another step-by-step cook book until now! way to go, Erica) and am studying airplanes since I LOVE them. I’ll be 18 in August and am soooooooo excited (haha, get to vote) and now I can go into my 18th year KNOWING alot. Workin’ on the skills too. I pray that if I’m blessed with kids some day, they’ll run after wisdom and knowledge in their life quests, since it is so freely given. Thanks again and God bless!
I bought your book before I got married, 1 year 3 months ago. I was very excited and ready to follow your advises, but now..I don’t know what to do…I am SO tired and sad…he is overseas and I don’t even miss him. He is another man, before I got married he was man#2 and #3…now is #1. And me too, so we have a problem. Please help me.
I have been rereading Stacy MacDonald’s book Raising Maidens of Virtue – are you or anyone else on this loop familiar with their vision for young ladies? Would love to hear your feedback/comments. Mary Lou
I just finished reading this great book~ THANK YOU!!! What an eye opener! I had read “Created”, but it didn’t hit home like this one. You have given me new inspiration, and also a lot of ideas for some writings of my own ( I am an author too :)). God bless!
Dear Debi
Thank you so much for allowing yourself to be used by God in this way. Your book came as an answer to prayer (I have both created and preparing). I want so badly to break the ‘mad woman’ chain of my mother but was lost and confused about everything. i still have a lot of ? and would love if you would email me if you have time. I no you are a very busy woman. May god bless you.
